The major value of the existing building on site is the unique project by architects Kęstutis Pempė and Gytis Ramunis. Despite the defective construction quality of the time, solutions as building‘s relation with surrounding landscape, expressive deconstruction of the oblong volume, post-modern details, as well as relevant proportions - grant the project its exclusive worthiness.
The proposal suggests taking the advantage of the unique project by re-constructing it along the northern boundary of the site. The new position of the building would ensure the fluent further development of the site at the same time maintaining the present value.
The re-created building would serve as a gate to the new business park designed, as well as a mark for the newly developed complex. The further stages are designed to enhance the values and architectural expression of the building reconstructed.
The volumes are oriented perpendicularly regarding the riverbank. The public pedestrian and biking routes organically connect to the inner alleys designed. The outdoor spaces inside the territory are dedicated to the recreation and greenery and continue towards the water, where the terraces are suggested.
The recreated buildings’ vitreous part of the southern facade connects it to the complementing 8 floor volume planned. The connecting space is designed to accommodate the main hall. The newly planned buildings‘ facades own a notably rational and neutral character formed by neat vertical division. Engineering solutions for overheat avoidance as well as appliance of photovoltaic cells are to be implemented. The perimeter of the multi-storey car park is planned engirdled by vertical greenery.
